Most websites are Doomed before they launch.
Because they aren't built strategically.
How to build a website that works & converts...
My Strategic Deep Dive was created as a solution to the common problem of marching blindly ahead with a website build without first taking the time to really get into the shoes of the user and craft an experience that gives them the info they need and guides them to the desired end result of the website. (Contacting you, joining your mailing list, etc.)
Why bother with Deep strategy First?
If your fundamental website strategy misses the mark, it doesn't matter how great your design is, or how compelling your copy might be... people aren't going to do what you want them to do.
Here are a few common rookie mistakes people make.
(Making even one of these mistakes on your website will likely result in missed conversions and lost business.)
Making the Site all about you.
Visitors to your website are, at the heart of it all, really just asking themselves one fundamental question: "Can this person help me achieve what I'm trying to do?"
If you don't focus on answering that question for them, your site's going to feel irrelevant and they're going to bounce away.
Not thinking in terms of problems and solutions.
The things you offer aren't worth much if they don't solve some sort of a problem, right?
It's critical to identify the problems you solve and craft a website that speaks to those problems and solutions. Ideally, in the words your visitors are already thinking to themselves.
Showing users content that feels irrelevant to what they're looking for.
Our online attention spans these days are short as hell.
If someone visits your website and it doesn't "feel like they're in the right place," they're gone.
They key, then, is to allow them to easily self-select into the type of market segment they fall into, and be served content that's specifically targeted to their unique needs.
Not wanting to exclude anyone.
All too often, people are afraid to exclude any potential customers they might get, and try to appeal to everyone. As a result, they come across like tap water: nothing special, and ultimately a commodity doomed to compete on price with everyone else.
By determining who your best customers are and building a site exactly for them, you will stand out as highly relevant, and a perfect solution for their needs, and elevate yourself beyond price wars and B.S. tactics.
Not having a linear start-to-finish flow for increasing awareness and trust.
At a bare minimum, a "meh" site needs to present all the important info that prospects need in order to become customers.
But a truly great website takes it a step further and guides users through a strategic flow that massages them into a state of increased awareness and familiarity with your brand and business, and you soon find yourself being "beyond the competition" because people want to work with you and no one else.
Not having clearly-defined, non-competing calls to action.
They say that "a confused mind always says no."
It's important to avoid competing calls to action when structuring your site; particularly on the homepage.
You want it to be super clear to your users where they're supposed to go, which means creating one clearly-delineated path for them to follow.
My Strategic Deep Dive was built to steer you clear of these mistakes and guide you towards a website that's going to be highly relevant to your best audience, and attract your most ideal customers.
How the Strategic Deep dive works...
In the strategic deep dive, you and I will hash things out together, with the end goal being to create a master plan for your website.
What it is:
You and I on the phone working together through a deep, holistic exploration of your business, who you serve, and why they work with you.
We'll chat on Skype (or whatever you prefer), hash everything out, and then I'll prep all the deliverables for your "website domination package," which I'll send your way within a few days via email.
And if we end up working together on your website, I'll already have most everything I need to get started, thanks to all this strategy. And thus, will be all set to start on your project as soon as my schedule allows it.
Depending on your needs and level of knowledge around conversions and online marketing, the strategy session itself will take anywhere from 90 minutes to 4 hours. (Anything longer than 2 hours, I like to split into two sessions for the sake of our sanity.)
Prior to booking the strategy session, you'll need to answer some questions for me and do some exploration, which will probably take you around a half hour.
What it Costs:
The cost for the Strategic Deep Dive and all deliverables is just $500 for now, but is likely to increase in price in the future.
If we end up working together on your website, the cost of the strategy session will be applied to your total website bill, making the strategy session effectively free.
What you Get:
Once we've completed the call, in addition to you having invaluable clarity on your audience, offer, and website's structure, I'll deliver the following to you:
Alright, let's do this thang.
If you're ready to commit yourself to building a truly kick-ass website that's going to guide your very best prospects through a flow that's custom-tailored to turning them into educated customers, proceed with the steps below.
Fill out my pre-strategy-call typeform by clicking the button down below. (will take you 20-30 minutes)
You'll then be taken to my calendly (booking tool) where you can find a time that works for our initial 2-hour strategic deep dive.
(If it turns out we need more time beyond this first 2-hr block, we'll arrange a follow-up session at the end of the call.)
Once you find a time that works, you can pay the $500 fee* and book your slot.
*Remember, the $500 fee is deducted from the cost of your project if we end up being a good fit and working on your site together.
Look within yourself and you shall find the answer you most need.
...Or just click one of the Qs below. Ya-know, whatever's easier.
What's your current availability look like for these strategy sessions?
I'm currently living in Thailand, and will be here until the end of 2018. (At which point I'll be moving to Portugal, which will be much easier for me to book calls from, ha ha.) As such, I'm shifted 11 hrs ahead of Eastern time right now.
In an effort to make things doable, I offer availability in early mornings and late evenings, and am available from 8am - 9pm Thailand time most days of the week.
What if we don't end up working together on the website Build after the Strategy Call?
No worries. Sometimes it's not a good fit. The beauty of the way I've structured my strategic deep dive is that you're getting 3 assets that are incredibly valuable for you and your business, even if you go work with somebody else on the website this time around.
In fact, I advise prospects who can't afford my rates to still do the strategy session with me before hiring someone on fiverr or upwork or whatever, as the assets included in the "website domination package" will help to bring out the best work from your service providers, even if they fall into the "cheaper and less experienced" category.
What if I don't want to fuss with all this strategy and just want you to build my site?
Well... it depends. If you're already a pro at this stuff and can give me a detailed outline of your strategy and would feel comfortable outlining those 3 docs from above for me on your own (Creative Brief, Customer Avatar Overview, and Website Structural Outlines/Wireframes), then that should give me what I need to build a kick-ass site for you.
But if you're just wanting to bumble ahead and build something without digging into it strategically first, I'm probably not gonna be the best fit for you, because the way I see it, that approach is going to result in a website that's not truly an asset for you, and is really just a glorified brochure. I specifically work with clients who are looking to create something that will provide a big ROI for them. If you want something that's not thought-out and is indeed more of the "glorified brochure" type of thing, you'll do well to go hire someone else who's cheaper and not equipped to strategize with you about marketing and conversions. (Which, incidentally, is most developers anyway.)
What if we can't find a time to Meet that works with both of our schedules?
One of the woes of living abroad is that it can sometimes be difficult to schedule calls at convenient times – I get that. If you pay the fee and it turns out there are no times that are convenient for us to meet, you will of course be refunded.
However, that shouldn't even be possible anyway, because as it is, you only will be paying once you've picked your appointment slot. 🙂
Do you offer any sort of a money-back guarantee?
I sure do. Here it is:
If we go through our Strategic Deep Dive together and you think it's all a bunch of B.S. that didn't benefit you at all, you can have your money back.
Simple as that. 🙂
